1. Heuristics Engine :
This is a new feature which was released by ALWIL Software LTD for the year 2010. What it means is, it detects the entry of various malware's which are undetectable with normal definitions. An example is, if a new wild virus which is not yet stated in your virus definition database, enters your PC, what Heuristics Engine does is, it reads the scripts of the virus and checks the virus definition database for similar scripts and if it finds any matches, it detects the file as virus and protects your from that harmful virus.2. Behavior Shield :
Another new feature which is introduced by ALWIL Software's LTD with its Avast Internet Security for the year 2010 is Behavior Shield. What it does is, It monitors the behavior of your PC witch its different sensors (Monitors file system, registry and network components) and reports/blocks any suspicious behavior. Its like if the registry is edited by the same unknowns malware, and at the same time file system are changed or something new is installed by the same unknown malware, Avast Internet Security blocks it and deletes the malware by protecting your from future threats.
3. Boot-Time Scanner :
Another good feature of Avast Internet Security is its Boot-Time Scanner. Scanning your PC's main components before the system has loaded, or even before a virus has started its operations. Detects any suspicious activity and deletes the virus before it damages your system components.
